February 2

The word of the day is CHILL. We grabbed some pastries for breakfast at the Dutch inspired Picton Village Bakkerij and then popped to the grocery store, not once, but twice. Very exciting! Wandering the store, I noticed the aisle signs. I love how the Maori language, called te reo, is so integrated here. It was made an official language in NZ in 1987.

We postponed our mail delivery boat tour until tomorrow because Mitch is fighting a cold and we needed a day to recover from the hike (Mitch got 9 blisters!). Delaying the tour was the right decision because it poured all day today coupled with really strong winds just at the time we were supposed to depart. So we hung out, did some laundry and caught up on phone calls and texts with family and friends. Exactly what we needed.
