<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We walked down to Taupo Bay Beach in the morning and from the beach, we spoke with Zachary and Jake, who are traveling through Europe together. They\u2019re having a great time. We miss them!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It was a quiet day in NZ as the country celebrated Anzac Day, a national holiday in remembrance of the Australians and New Zealanders who served and died in war.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We drove to Kerikeri<\/a> and wandered around the town. Many of the shops were closed due to the holiday, but it wasn\u2019t a town with much personality. We managed to find a good place open for lunch at Redwoods Cafe<\/a> on the outskirts of town.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Then we drove to the Rawene Holiday Park<\/a> for our overnight stay. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Located on a hill overlooking Hokianga Harbor<\/a>, we settled in and enjoyed the view. We played Rummikub to justify our schlepping it from home and watched the sunset.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
