Michelle and Stuart provided us with another delicious breakfast to start our day. This time, Michelle made us shakshouka in individual cast iron pans and Stuart baked date scones. We have been spoiled rotten by these kind, generous people.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We hugged our gracious hosts and said our goodbyes, arriving as guests and leaving as friends. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

We headed back towards Te Anau to be closer to our departure point, Manapouri<\/a>, for our overnight cruise on Doubtful Sound<\/a> which begins tomorrow afternoon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On the way, we stopped in Arrowtown<\/a>, an historic gold mining town with a nice Main Street. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

As we strolled, we ran into a couple from Sydney that we met on our Milford Track and delightedly chatted for a bit, reminiscing about our hike.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In town, we visited the Chinese Settlement<\/a>, where Chinese gold seekers established camp from the 1860s to 1880s. The restored remains of the camp offered a glimpse into the first Chinese immigrants to arrive in NZ.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Back in the car, we drove about two hours and arrived at our hotel in Te Anau<\/a>. Not interested in dining out, Mitch cooked up a quick dinner and we worked on the blog as we listened to the rain outside.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
